The Reading Specialist

As a former Special Education Teacher and school-based Reading Specialist, my goal has always been to help all students become confident and capable readers.

When I made the move from Pennsylvania to Florida, I saw an opportunity to support readers in a more meaningful way - ensuring they receive support that is individually tailored to their needs.

The Approach

My approach is rooted in evidence-based, multisensory learning (think Orton-Gillingham and UFLI!) to explicitly teach readers critical foundational skills needed for reading success.

My instruction follows the the Science of Reading - a collection of decades of research on how children learn to read. This means using proven, evidence-based methods to build strong readers through explicit and systematic instruction.

Sessions are individualized and one-on-one to ensure a personalized, on-going learning plan to build your readers skills, confidence, and independence.
